Our programs help to turn young lives around. We offer highly successful programs in Preventation Education, Outpatient Treatment and Community & Family Outreach.
Our staff has extensive training in our effective strength-based program that includes the importance of safety, relationship building and personal asset development.
Our Primary Care approach is a 90-day program of individual and group counseling sessions (in Spanish or English). Primary Care focuses on dependency and interventions specific to drug and alcohol abuse, peer pressure to engage in drug abuse or violent activities such as gang involvement, bullying, and dating violence, sessions on anger management, asset development, alcohol and drug testing, and relapse prevention strategies.
Parent Education and Anger Management classes are key to success gained in Primary. Parent Education is a dynamic support group for parents and family members that explore family issues arising from substance use, and the needs of the parent and family as well as the youth in treatment.
Anger Management Classes to help youth to better understand their own attitudes and responses in relation to and other people’s behavior.
Class Room Modules; school-based curriculum offering at-risk youth instruction on the physical, psychological and social impact of drug and alcohol abuse; encourages taking responsibility for choices, discussions on vulnerability to abuse and addiction, developing refusal skills, recognizing anger triggers and positive responses, and how to access needed resources. Incorporated into these modules are topics such as Culture, Bullying and Dating Violence. We work with site staff, providing progress updates on the groups we facilitate and receive their feedback on our classes and referrals on any other students who may benefit from on-site services or those who need to be linked to higher level of support through our off-site programs.
Large group instruction that educates community stakeholders on recognizing substance abuse indicators in individuals and families, how to stay safe in situations where drugs and alcohol are present, how to talk to a friend in need, as well as identifying collaborative and culturally appropriate resources and how to access them.
