One Heart. Many Minds.

About Us

Every year over a thousand youth, adults and other community stakeholders access our array of multicultural services. Last year we served youth and adults from urban and rural neighborhoods by providing bilingual Outpatient Treatment services, school-based Prevention Education classes, Specialty Services such as Batterers Intervention, Anger Management and Parenting Education, and large group Community & Family Outreach presentations made to agencies, schools, community fairs.

Our History

The mission of El Centro de Libertad is to help individuals, families, and communities of all cultures suffering from the impact of substance abuse and related issues to achieve and maintain health, strength, and recovery.

El Centro de Libertad was founded in 1994 in response to the growing need for culturally competent drug and alcohol services for adults in urban centers; however, the gap between need and available services in San Mateo County, particularly in bilingual communities, has resulted in El Centro providing Outpatient Treatment services to both adults and youth, and in both urban centers and as well as rural Coastside communities.
