The aftercare program at El Centro de Libertad supports graduates of primary treatment continue the healing process. Aftercare supports the participant's commitment to recovery by helping them learn to manage the stress associated with their recently-gained abstinence. The aftercare groups provide temporary support until the participant has developed a strong foundation in the recovery community. The aftercare program serves graduates from our own outpatient treatment program, as well as graduates from other outpatient programs and from residential treatment.

Participants are required to attend weekly 2-hour support groups, meet monthly or as needed with their individual counselor, complete their assigned homework, pass random drug and alcohol screen, and attend three 12-step support groups per week.

The aftercare program is open-ended. Participants usually remain in the program until they have developed a strong foundation in the recovery community, generally about six months.
